Goalsetting

Many people confuse Goals with Rewards.

We say that our goal is to buy a certain type of car by such and such a time. However, what we mean to say is that we will reward ourselves by buying ourselves such and such a car.

Our goals must then be to sell so many houses (if you are a Real Estate Agent like myself), or that you will save 15% of your salary every month for the next year, etc.

So our goals are the little steps we must take every day in order to be able to reward ourselves.

So at the end of every day one must look at the day and see whether you have achieved your goal for the day.

You cannot get to the end of the year and say, I didn’t reach my goal because I was unable to buy my car. Checking and tracking our goals is a daily activity.

Do yourself a favour and take a few minutes to write down your daily goals that will enable you to reward yourself.

It has been said that when one puts one’s goals in writing we are already halfway there. So just do it! You owe it to yourself.

And remember track your progress Daily or at least Weekly.

Remember life is a journey not a destination. We must track our small goals in order to attain the rewards we want out of life

Hi I’m feeling a little philosophical today so I decided to share some insights of great people.

  1. Learn to help people with more than just their jobs, help them with their lives
  2. Good people are found, not changed
  3. A new idea is delicate, handle it as such
  4. A man may die, nations may fall, but an idea lives on forever
  5. We cannot afford to spend major time on minor things or minor time on major things
  6. Do not mistake intentions for accomplishments
  7. We must help those who deserve it, not just those who need it
  8. Successful people look for ways to get on with it
  9. Stick to one thing until you get there!

Hope this is a good pick-up for this Monday afternoon! Speak to you again tomorrow, Go well, put at least one of these wise ideas in place and see what a difference it makes. Let me have your comments please.

What is important to you?

Good Morning, DISCIPLINE leads to succes, so they say and One who has MASTERED SELF can master the universe. How do you do this? How does one master self? By having discipline and controlling your thoughts. Remember everything starts in the mind, so don’t entertain those voices who tell you “Do it Tomorro”. In fact, those voices tend to scream don’t they. This is a new year and if we stick to what we must do constantly and consistently our goals are achievable. Try doing the following for the next week, then the next, then the next and before you know it it’s the end of the year and you’ve done it for the entire year! It takes just 2 steps to PUT YOURSELF IN CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE IMMEDIATELY! 1.Make a promise to yourself, and keep it 2. Set a goal and work to achieve it As we make and keep commitments we begin to establish an inner integrity that gives us the awareness of self-control and the courage and strength to accept more of the responsiblity of our own lives. By making and keeping promises to ourselves and others, little by littel, our honour becomes greater than our MOODS! Cheers for today, have a great life, you deserve it and remember you are in CHARGE! (of your mind). Yas

How Busy are you?

I’m going on holiday shortly and this takes quite a bit of planning, did you know that people spend more time on planning their holidays than planning their lives?

Ask anyone if they have taken the time to write down their goals for this year yet. I’m sure most of them would tell you that they didn’t do it yet.. and those who did (me included) took very little time to do it! In fact, I have spent 20 times as much time on planning my 1 week holiday than I did on planning my goals for this year.

It’s a disgrace that our priorities are so warped, isn’t it?
That is something to ponder on… til next time

Cheers
Yas

I’ve been meaning to work on my blog but i’m faced with the same challenge as everyone else- not enough time. But what is time? Time, and what you do with it determines your success in life, doesn’t it? Yes we can certainly waste our time, and sell our time at ridiculous discounted rates, don’t we. We take up jobs that pay us so little per hour whereas if we had been less fearful we’d become ‘consultants’ and sell our time in hourly slots – not monthly like we’ve all been taught by our parents. Did you know that our fears are our traitors. And our parents, with their conservative natures teach us to be fearful, don’t they? Any comments on this?
